Capitol City Young Writers would like to offer its members the following scholarship opportunities. Please visit the individual pages for specific details and application deadlines.
Membership: For families with financial need
Conferences: Available throughout the U.S. At this time, CCYW can only offer a scholarship for the cost of the registration. No travel, lodging or meals will be provided.

Application Guidelines
Scholarship applicants must submit an essay expressing their interest and purpose as to why they are applying. CCYW offers several scholarships, so please be specific as to which scholarship you are applying for. If the scholarship is for a writers’ conference and you do not live locally to that conference, be sure to provide details as to lodging and travel arrangements.
Writing the essay
List specific goals, achievements, awards or positions held in school that would show your professionalism and dedication to learning and/or writing. We would like to hear how great your grades are as well.
Feel free to provide any letters of recommendation from teachers or professionals in your community.
Describe how the scholarship will contribute to your personal and professional goals. Are you considering college? What career are you pursuing?
Be sure to provide your name, address, telephone number, parent’s names and their contact information, school, and grade level.
Remember, you are a writer. We would like to gain a sense of your personality and style in your writing.
Don’t wait until the last minute to submit your application.
Proofread your essay to ensure there are no mistakes. Feel free to ask others for help, including parents and teachers. This is a normal part of the editing and revision process.
The essay should not exceed two pages, typed, double spaced, 12pt font, New Times Roman. Attach to an email as a word document and email to info@capitolcityyoungwriters.com. Write “scholarship application” in the subject line.
Submit a writing sample of no more than five (5) pages.
